Winning their first two games, the Lady Centaurs returned to the Dead Ants Championship game and faced the same opponent as last year - Eastwood Collegiate from Canada.
The victory against Kenmore West in the first game of the day came in the closing seconds of the game.
Fairport played CHS/Genesee close, but were able to hold on to a 5-0 lead off a try scored by Sarah Bellnier and win.
Against Eastwood Collegiate, the same team who scored the only try of the game in last year's Dead Ants U19 girls championship game,
the girls of Batavia and Buffalo scored a hard earned 12-0 lead by half.
What is most impressive about this win was the teams' tenacity in the second half.
From Second Half kickoff until the game ending whistle, Eastwood Collegiate dominated the game and played entirely in the Centaur's end of the field.
A strong collective defense, lead by Allison Brown, however did not allow a single score.
For her efforts, Allison Brown was awarded the Eastwood Collegiate "Teddy Bear" MVP award
and the Dead Ants Tournament MVP trophy. Congratulations to the entire team for their efforts.
