Hosted by the Rochester Colonials
2008 NYS Girls All-Star MVP: Erika Huard
Erika Huard scored three trys today. Her first try was scored while at Outside Center and two from playing 8-woman.
Erika's first try at 13 came off of great backline ball movement and great runs.
At 8, Erika had one try from a quick pick at a 5 metre scrum awarded after Liz smartly kicked the ball deep. The second came from aggressive play in a line-out, tackled the would-be kicker, poached the ball and touched it down for 5 points.
Jamila added two trys to the Red's final tally. Her first try was a result of good passing and strong running.
The final try of the game came after Liz Felix scooped up a kicked ball at fullback, cut up field and gently moved the ball wide to Brielle who offloaded to Jam for a nice long run and 5 points.
Sydney Dedline of Kenmore East converted two trys to add 4 more points.
Erika Huard was named the game's Most Valuable Player. The Coach's team MVP was awarded to Alex of Kenmore East thanks to her wonderful teamwork in the pack at 8-woman and in the backline at winger.
The Red team's try came from their flyhalf who burst right up the middle, side-stepping two tacklers and in for a smart try right under the posts.
Congratulations to Jamila Muhammad, Liz Felix, Jessica Drock, Erika Huard, Brittany Gray, Ella Perry-Piniewski & Brielle Sansone. Congrats to Emily Glidden and Ayla Axeloons for being named as alternates and everyone who played today.
Blue: City Honors, Kenmore East, Kenmore West, Schools Without Mercy & two mercenaries from Red.
